Below are some self help books I have enjoyed so far on my spiritual journey
Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.
— Oscar Wilde.
My journey to self help books started when I was about 25 years old. One of my close friends passed away and my grandfather passed away a year after that. I started to become interested in learning more about what life has to offer. My interest in the self started when I would talk with healers. I was looking for guidance after experiencing a sudden loss. Just as empty as it was I felt the need to explore “the meaning of life”. The healer recommended meditation, but didn’t know where to start.
My friend recommended going to Vipassana so that was my first step with learning about the self and how powerful our thoughts can be. (BTW I would highly recommend going to Vipassana if interested in learning about meditation. At least, it was a great start for me!) After this experience, I wanted to learn even more about what it truly means to be human or living as a spiritual being in a human existence. Then my dad recommended reading the “Celestine prophecy”. Also, the sequel “The Tenth Insight” is a great book. I talk with my cousin and she recommended reading “Way of the Peaceful Warrior”. Some other very well written books are “Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior” and “Everyday Enlightenment”. Dan Millman is a talented author who wrote those books so I’m any book you pick up from him is great. If you are interested in spirituality I would highly recommend these books. Have fun! 😀
